Pochi giorni fa mio marito ha compiuto gli anni.
Ogni volta io entro in crisi per trovare un'idea originale per il suo biglietto d'auguri. Spesso e volentieri è a tema Star Wars, di cui lui è un grande fan (un po' tutta la famiglia, ad essere onesti).
Quest'anno mi sono imbattuta in questo modello di card pop-up con Darth Vader ed è stato un successone!
Few days ago was my husband's birthday. Every year I get crazy to find something original for his birthday card.
Looking for something about Star Wars theme (we are huge fan), I stumbled across this Darth Vader card pop-up and was love at first sight!
In abbinamento alla card mi sono cimentata nella realizzazione di una mascherina in stoffa riciclando un vecchio paio di pantaloni in cotone. Il tessuto era anonimo, così ho intagliato un timbro con un Interceptor stilizzato per creare un pattern sia per la mascherina che per la parte frontale della card.
To match the card, I sewed a cotton mask recycling an old pair of trousers, adding to the background few white Interceptors stamped with a hand carved stamp to make the cotton interesting.
Il modello è spiegato così bene che non ho avuto difficoltà ad assemblarlo (di sicuro meno che a cucire la mascherina!)
Sul sito di Matthew Reinhart ci sono molti altri modelli con gli schemi gratuiti e le istruzioni passo a passo. Se non le conoscete, vi consiglio le sue pubblicazioni, sono strepitose. Il suo libro pop up sui dinosauri ha fatto saltare sul seggiolone mio figlio, quando era piccolo! :D
The model is so well explained that I had no difficulties to make it (less than sewing the mask, to be honest :)
On Matthew Reinhart's site there are lots of free templates and step by step photo tutorial. His books are amazing, too. The one with dinosaurs made my son jump on his high chair when he was younger!
