Eccomi con il primo progetto dell'anno dedicato ad Halloween. Mi sono divertita con i timbri di Tim Holtz e gli acquerelli per creare questo segnalibro che preannuncia l'arrivo dell'autunno.

Per il secondo tema della sfida ho deciso di usare una coppia di set con Alice e lo Stregatto, combinandoli con una fustella dal bordo vintage.

For the second theme of the challenge, I've matched a couple of Alice's stamps with a vintage frame die.

Per la colorazione ho usato i pennarelli acquerellabili Zig e le matite Prismacolor per i dettagli.

I've colored the characters with Zig watercolor markers and Prismacolor premier for the details.

Una sfida il cui tema sono libri e segnalibri per me è come il canto delle sirene. È il caso del Monday Challenge di Simon Says Stamp di questa settimana. Per l'occasione ho messo insieme timbri e fustelle di aziende diverse in questo mixed media dall'effetto vintage che accompagnerà le mie letture più classiche.

A challenge that involves books and bookmarks has the effect of a mermaid call to me. This is the theme of the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge of this week. For the occasion, I put together stamps and dies by different brands in this mixed media vintage bookmark that will match my classic books.

Trovo sempre stimolante l'idea di mescolare prodotti diversi, nuovi e vecchi.

I think seeing the mixing result of new and old supplies emerging from the card is really fascinating.

Ti amo quasi quanto la pizza / I love you almost like pizza

Stupire mio marito o i miei figli con una card è diventata una vera sfida. Questa volta ho puntato sull'ironia e, in occasione del nostro ventesimo anniversario di matrimonio, ho realizzato per lui questa card in cui ho improvvisato un'ambientazione in una pizzeria.

Mi sono molto divertita a colorare questi personaggi di AALL & Create, che un po' ci assomigliano anche! 😁

Surprising my hub and my kids with a card is harder and harder every time. For our 20th anniversary of marriage, I bet on irony and I made this card where I designed the pizzeria background (the sentiment says "I love you almost like pizza" 😁). I had really fun coloring these AALL & Create characters, they resembling us!

Coppia di tag estive / A couple of Summer tags

Per una coppia di amiche che festeggiano gli anni a pochi giorni di differenza e che amano i fiori e la natura, ho pensato a questa coppia di tag coloratissime realizzate con la tecnica del mixed media.

I made this couple of colorful mixed media tags for the birthdays of two friends who like flowers and nature.

 

Ho cercato di renderle fresche e leggere con l'uso di colori chiari e il bianco della polvere da rilievo abbinata al vellum.

I tried to make them fresh and light with pastel colors and the white embossing powder matched with vellum.

Non poteva certo mancare il tocco vintage, reso dai ticket di Tim Holtz, e un pizzico di glamour con la polverina dorata (trovate il tutorial per realizzare questi ticket in questo post).

I added a vintage touch with the Tim Holtz tickets, and a little bit of glamour with the gold embossing power (you can find the tutorial to make these ephemera tickets on this post).

Appena ho visto il set di timbri di All & Create ho capito che sarebbe stato perfetto per mio marito, vista la rassomiglianza con uno dei personaggi. E così, in occasione del suo compleanno, l'ho utilizzato per questa tag - segnalibro che sono sicura gli sarà molto utile, oltre a sorprenderlo per l'effetto slider :)

The moment I saw this stamp set by AAll & create, I knew it would be perfect for my hubby, the resemblance with one of the characters is astonishing! So, I made this tag - bookmark for his birthday.

I'm sure he will like it, also for the slider effect :)

Tag di primavera / Spring tag

Non c'è nulla di più divertente che creare una tag chiudipacco pasticciando con timbri e colori! Il bel tempo tarda ad arrivare, ma questa farfalla non lo sa e svolazza allegra.

Nothing is funnier than playing with stamps and colors and making a tag! Pleasant weather is late here in Italy, but this butterfly is not aware of that, and she flies happy here and there.

Per questa tag ho utilizzato timbri, fustelle e stencil di marchi diversi in una sinergia perfetta per rendere l'idea che avevo in mente. E che spero piaccia anche alla destinataria.

I mixed stamps, dies and stencils from different brands, but they cooperated perfectly reflecting the idea in my mind. I hope the recipient will like the result as well as I did in making it.

La tag che condivido con voi oggi è nata dopo aver visto questo video di Tiffany Solorio, che mi piace molto per la sua semplicità e per i progetti di mixed media che propone, anche alla portata di chi non ha molta dimestichezza con questa tecnica.

Today I would like to share a tag inspired by this video by Tiffany Solorio: I love the simplicity of her mixed media projects, perfect for newbies like me.

Ho utilizzato questi cuscinetti di Distress Ink: Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet e Seedles Preserves, e una volta asciutti i colori, ho fatto cadere qualche goccia di acrilico bianco.

I used these Distress Ink pad: Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet and Seedles Preserves, and when they dried, I add a few splatters of white acrylic paint.

 

Questa tag mi è parsa perfetta per alloggiare uno dei miei bigliettini ephemera preparato in questo post.

This tag is just the perfect match to one of my last handmade ephemera tickets (you saw them on this post), don't you think?

Come ultimo tocco ho aggiunto delle paillette opache del set Blue Night e l'etichetta "To you" di Moda Scrap.

At last I added three opaque sequins from Blue Night set and a sentiment strip by Moda Scrap.

Un panda rosso sui libri / A red panda on books

Trovate possibile non innamorarvi di un disegno così dolce? Io non ho resistito e ho chiesto all'autrice, ArteeCarta di Kiab, di mandarmene copia digitale per poterlo colorare (potete fare lo stesso andando sul suo profilo IG).

It's impossible to not fall in love with such an adorable red panda! I had to ask for the graphic to the author - the talented ArteeCarta di Kiab - the same instant I saw him! (You can do the same from her IG profile).

Purtroppo la mia stampante LaserJet non supporta carte dal peso superiore ai 130g, quindi ho dovuto stampare su una carta compatibile con l'acquerellatura (nel mio caso la Coriandoli) e poi incollarla su un cartoncino. Il risultato non mi dispiace, ma le sfumature di colore non sono facili sulla Coriandoli e ho dovuto lavorare velocemente con i pennarelli Zig Clean Color e il pennello umido. L'intervento successivo con le matite Prismacolor è stato più massiccio del previsto, ma credo che comunque il connubio abbia dato buon esito. La bombetta di AALL & Create è l'elemento sfizioso che dà il tocco finale, non trovate? Naturalmente il piccolo panda rosso è finito su un segnalibro angolare, perfetto per l'autunno in arrivo :)

Unfortunately, my LaserJet printer doesn't work with paper heavier than 130g, so I had to turn to a watercolour-friendly paper (Coriandoli) gluing the print onto a card stock. Even though I must admit I like the result, I must tell you that blending on Coriandoli is not easy at all! In order to get what I wanted, I had to work quickly with the Zig Clean Color marker and wet brush, and I needed to intervene heavier with the Prismacolor pencils on the details. In the end, I believe this union of techniques leaded to a good result. The bowler by AALL & Create is the last style touch to all, don't you think? Needless to say, this little red panda became an angular bookmark eventually, the perfect welcome of the incoming autumn reading season!:)

In un mare di parole / Under a sea of words

L'estate è la stagione ideale per fare scorpacciate di libri e questa sirena immersa in un mare di lettere mi è sembrata perfetta per una tag/segnalibro. Voi che ne dite?

Summer is time of books binges and this mermaid under a sea of letters looks made for a bookmark tag, don't you think?

Qui potete vedere i passaggi della colorazione della capigliatura. I pennarelli acquerellabili Zig hanno la punta a pennello sottile, ideale per creare i fili di capelli colorati.

Here you can see the hair coloring steps. Zig markers have the perfect tip size to watercolor thin lines.

Penso che il numero minimo di colori da usare per creare un po' di tridimensionalità nella chioma sia tre. Le ciocche di questo timbro, poi, sono un vero invito alle sfumature!

I think three is the minimal number of colors to have dimensional hair, and this mermaid has beautiful strands so inviting!

Da ultimo ho applicato l'onda con le lettere ricavata da un cartoncino già pronto (avete visto i passaggi della colorazione in questo post).

As last steps, I added a wave strip from a watercolored paper (look here for the original post) and some iridescent sequins.

Mostri di bravura! / Monstrously good!

Sabato scorso ho partecipato al meeting annuale del DT di Impronte d'Autore e anche quest'anno ho preparato per le altre timbrine dei piccoli pensierini. Per accompagnarli, ho scelto di realizzare delle tag mostruose, proprio per loro che sono tutte mostri di bravura!

The last saturday I joined the annual  Impronte d'Autore DT meeting. As usual, I gave a little present to each participant, matching it with a monsters tag, because they are all monstrously good crafters!

Il set di timbri che ho usato è spassosissimo, perché i volti sono intercambiabili e quindi si possono dare ai personaggi espressioni sempre diverse. E coloriture diverse, naturalmente.

The stamp set I chose is very funny: the faces are interchangeable in such a way that each character can have different expressions.
And many different colors, of course.

Il fondo invece è colorato allo stesso modo, sfumando i Distress Ink (sui toni del viola o del blu) con il Mini Blending Tool, usando una maschera a forma di nuvolette e di cerchio per la luna.

I colored all the backgrounds in the same way, blending the violet or blue Distress Inks with the Mini Blending Tool and a cloud mask (circle mask for the moon).

Ultimi tocchi qualche goccia di Black Enamel Accents e di Distress Mica Spray argento, una passata di Spectrum Noir Sparkle Crystal Clear sulla luna e una vezzosa paillettes (perché saranno pur mostri, ma decisamente alla moda! ;)

For the final touches, I put some Enamel Accents Black and Distress Silver Mica Spray drops, few brush stroke of Spectrum Noir Sparkle Crystal Clear onto the moon and a sequin (they are trandy monsters, of course! ;)

Quante volte creiamo per noi stessi? Spesso è per un compleanno, una cerimonia, Natale, una commissione...

A volte è bello farlo solo per il gusto di farlo. Ed è così che è nata questa card-segnalibro, apposta per me, che passo per quella "stramba" quando ai compleanni dei compagni dei miei figli regalo libri e non vestiti, quando lavoro all'uncinetto invece di fissare il cellulare mentre i miei bambini fanno nuoto, quando mi esercito con pennino e inchiostro mentre loro sono a lezione di musica.

E voi, cosa fate di strambo?

How many times do you craft for yourself? Usually you do it for a birthday, sometimes for a ceremony, Christmas or a commission...

But sometimes, it is nice just to make something for yourself.

I this case, I made the card/bookmark for myself, 'cause I'm the weirdo every time I give books and not clothes to my kids' friends for their birthday; every time I crochet rather than staring at my smartphone waiting for my kids at the swimming pool; every time I practice with nib and penholder waiting for them at music classes.
