Un adorabile mostro / Adorable monster

Ho amato questa illustrazione appena l'ho vista. E poi, siamo onesti, quanti di voi trovano spaventoso questo mostro nell'ombra? Per me è assolutamente adorabile!

I have loved this illustration the very moment I saw it. Let's be honest: how many of you can find terrifying this shadow monster? He's adorable!

 

Lo sfondo è realizzato con tamponi Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin e Vintage Photo. Per la bimba ho fatto qualche ritocco di colore con i pennarelli acquerellabili Zig Clean Colors.

I made the background by using Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin and Vintage Photo. Then I added a little bit colors to the girl with Zig Clean Colors watercolor markers.

Ecco le ATC del mese appena concluso. Scommetto che indovinate quella fatta da me, vero?

E, dato che nei nostri incontri non stiamo mai con le mani in mano, io e le amiche di stamping ci siamo divertite a sperimentare lo sfondo fatto con gli Oxide sulla carta glossy.
Se non ci salutiamo con le dita piene di colore, non siamo contente! ^_^

My stamping friends and I spent time having fun with Oxide pads and glossy card stock.

Full immersion nel mixed media!

Qualche volta capita anche a me di partecipare a dei corsi non come insegnante, ma come studente. Per insegnare è fondamentale imparare. Se poi la maestra è capace, entusiasta, paziente e talentuosa, come Elena, allora imparare diventa anche un piacere.

E per dimostrarvelo, lasciate che vi mostri cosa ho creato sotto la sua guida durante i due corsi che ha tenuto ieri 14 ottobre da Impronte d'Autore a Milano.

Sometime I attend workshops not as a teacher, but as a student. There is no teaching without learning. And if the teacher is a kind, enthusiastic, patient and talented one, like Elena, learning is also a great pleasure. In order to prove the point, let me show you what I created during her workshops the last 14th Of October, in the Impronte d'Autore shop in Milan.

Questa è la "Time tag" preparata nel corso del mattino.
This is the "Time tag" I made in the morning.

Questo invece è il mini-album con tag.
And this is the mini-album I made in the afternoon.

Che bella scoperta il mixed-media! Con paste e colori avevo già pasticciato abbondantemente, ma creare un albumino da zero tanto ricco in tre ore, è stata una vera sorpresa!

I discover to like so much the mixed media technique! I've used pastes and gesso and colors a lot in the past, but I did'n think to be able to make a mini album so much rich of details in just three hours!

Che dire poi della gentilezza di Elena, che ha preparato una spilla per ogni corsista?

Decisamente corsi consigliati a tutti: 6 ore di pura creatività!!

And what about Elena's kindness? She gave a handmade pin to each student.

I recommend her lessons definitely: six hours of pure creativity!!

Oxide: primo incontro / first date

Quale modo migliore di passare la domenica con le amiche di stamping? Se poi aggiungete i nuovi Distress Oxide con cui pasticciare, ancora meglio!
There is no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than stamping with friends! Even better if you have the new Distress Oxide in your hands!

Certo, usare l'embosser tutto il giorno con queste temperature africane è un po' da masochiste, ma si sa che noi crafter non ci lasciamo spaventare da nulla.
Hot summer Sundays doe not welcome the embosser, as you can imagine! but crafters do not get scared easily.

Le prime prove con questi colori mi hanno colpita. Il risultato è sempre imprevedibile, anche se sicuramente questo prodotto necessita un'ulteriore sperimentazione.

L'unico colore che non ci ha entusiasmate troppo è stato il Worn Lipstick: non è molto coprente e tende un po' a scomparire se mescolato agli altri.
First trials moved me. You can never foresee the final result when you work with this product, and it always requires more practice.
Worn Lipstick was the only one that left us disappointed: it comes out too thin and it looses its identity when mixed up with other tints.  

Questo è il mio pezzo preferito: mi ricorda il carapace di un grosso granchio tropicale... il mix di questi colori è pazzesco!!
This is my favorite: it reminds me to a big tropical crab's shell... the mixing of the tints is amazing!!

Ma che ne dite di questa galassia? E' stato sufficiente aggiungere una spruzzata di Gansai Starry Colours per un risultato degno di nota.
And what about this galaxy? Some Gansai Starry Colours here and there did the purpose, and the result is very good.
