Blog candy: promemoria/memo

This is just a memo to remind you that you have only 3 days before the blog candy expires! I also forgot to tell you that cards will come with envelopes, of course...

Every year Christmas got me unprepared! As usual, this year I delivered the last gifts only a few days ago.
Here you can see the packets I made, embellished with some dies, a couple of stamps and some beads.

Snowman from Artemio set 'Snowmen street' inked with Versafine black ink pad (my favourite for embossing) and embossed with clear powder.
Brown paper from DCVW 'Holiday Stack' set.

Like every year, it is time for budgets and propositions.

Riti d'inizio d'anno/New year traditions

Every family has a tradition: we inaugurate the new calendar.

That doesn't mean that we merely unwrap it and hang it on the wall. On the contrary, we write down each birthday, deadline, and meeting we are aware of at the beginning of the year.

In the last few years we have bought the Sandra Boynton's family planner.

Oltre ad avere dei disegni deliziosi,
Besides having pretty drawings,

the calendar offers lots of stickers to play with.

Ther's also a magnetic phone list: our is on the fridge, ready for any pediatric or hydraulic emergency...

The most practical side of it, though, is the vast amount of space it dedicates to each family member (mom on top : )

That's right, this calendar suites perfectly a 5 persons family... I think, I'd rather adopt an hamster ^____^

BUON 2012 A TUTTI!!
HAPPY 2012 TO EVERYONE!!

Shaken by the frenzy of Christmas, I totally forgot to show you the gifts I made for Anna, the last entry in my crocheting group! : )

I made for her pair of crocheted booties, with cross stitched tunisian frontal part (the same you saw here in a light cotton version)...

... and this baby card (stork by Aladine, background by Papertrey and Aladine)

Wath a beautiful way to say goodbye to the ending year!

Riciclo natalizio/Christmas recycling

My husband hates me.
Well, for the most part of time he adores me, but I see his lovley eyes changing into a serial killer's gaze whenever I say 'no, don't trow it away! It can be good one day!'
As a result, our house looks like a second-hand dealer shop.

But, like I expected, the scraps of the felted snowflakes I cutted with an old Sizzix die last Christmas became really useful!
I could'nt trow away those cutie little and almost perfect rhombus !

So I sewed them together in a six-pointed star and I made a buttonhole stitch all around.

Then I cutted some red hearted gingerbread men (another Sizzix die), and I pick up some metal rings and a piercing punch.

Un paio di buchini alle mani...
A pair of little holes in the hands...

Un paio di piercing...
A pair of piercing...

And here they are with the white stars in a Christmas garland!

It's a pity it didn't help my husband to make up his mind...

Stamping in fiera/Fair stamping

Working at the fair gives you a lot of time to show the customers how you use the products you're selling, and after cutting a vast number of hearts I decided to use this 3 hearts Sizzix die to make Christmas decorations.

To create this tree you need 24 hearts, 8 for each size (big, medium and small).
A hearts die would help, otherwise you can cut them by hand, maybe involving the kids at home on the 23 december to make the place card for the Christmas table (it's only a suggestion : )

The tree is made by 3 parts, each maden by 8 hearts (same size), folded in halves and glued together back-to-back (you can see this post I came across).
Then you must attach each part on a stick, upside down, in decreasing order and glue a star at the top and strass, or glitter, or whatever.

You can make Christmas decoration in the same way, adding a ribbon in the centre.

I made those cards playing with the new Impronte d'Autore stamps (you can find them here), with the precious cooperation of Annaelle (precious bowe-ribbon maker : )

This last card is not mine, rather it's my favourite card of the 'Il 150° Buon Natale Italiano' competition.
I never thought of using the black cardstock to make a Christmas card before... my compliments to the author!

AF 2011

Finally I survived also to this 2011 edition of Artigiano in Fiera! This is why I have been away for more than 10 days...

Tempo per girare la fiera praticamente nullo...
This year I haven't got the time to visit the fair...

I could just peek through the curtains before the opening of the pavillions...

And dulcis in fundo (I could not choose better words!) the delicious creations made by the cake designers of 'La Casa di Massy'.

This kitten-cake was made by Sarachan, an aspiring cake-maker imprisoned into a engineer body (her own words taken from her blog, where you can find many pictures, recipes and tutorials).

Meravigliose, vero? Non riuscirei mai a mangiarle!
Purtroppo non conosco il nome dell'autrice...

And what about this sugar bouquet? I could never eat those masterpieces!
Unfortunately I don't know the author's name...

Prossimo post dedicato allo stamping in fiera!
Next post will be on stamping in the fair!

Today post is dedicated to the beautiful crocheted rose Trilli made following my tutorial (you can find it here, and here you can find the modified leaf tutorial). Isn't it pretty? In her blog you can also find an unmissable 'warm' blog candy!

If anyone else made something inspired by one of my schemes or tutorials, send me pictures: I'll post theme with big pleasure!
