Adorabili canaglie natalizie! / The little Christmas rascals!

 

Ma quanto sono carucci i bimbi in completo natalizio di questo nuovissimo set di Impronte d'Autore? Semplicemente adorabili! Qui li vedete stampati e colorati singolarmente, pronti per diventare protagonisti della mia prima card natalizia del 2020! 

How adorable are these chubby little Christmas fellows by Impronte d'Autore?!? Here they are on the stamp set, below on my very first 2020 Xmas card!

Anche il formato è una novità grazie a una bellissima fustella per realizzare questa card lunghissima che va tanto di moda ultimamente.

And, thanks to a beautiful slim die, this is a brand new size for me too. 

Per poter avere le colline della stessa lunghezza della card ho ripetuto il taglio due volte, coprendo con i personaggi i punti di unione dei due tagli.

I had to cut twice the hills to cover the length of the card, and I use the kids to cover the union spots.

Per la scritta ho fustellato le lettere in tre colori diversi per avere un'ombra tridimensionale e un po' di movimento dato dal colore (in realtà ho tagliato le lettere in tre colori diversi prima di decidere quello definitivo e invece di buttarle, le usate per creare altri due layer! Della serie "dall'errore vengono fuori cose interessanti").

Qualche paillette, un po' di penna gel, il pennarello glitterato e voilà l'effetto Natale assicurato!

I cut the letters three times before I was satisfied of the result. But, instead of get rid of the first two, I kept them to add some colored layers under the white ones.

Few sequins, some spots of white gel pen, few brushes of glitter pen and that's Christmas!

Prime impronte / First prints

Recentemente sul gruppo FB di Impronte d'Autore (Impronterules) abbiamo parlato delle prime volte che abbiamo scoperto i timbri, delle prime card realizzate. Non credo che questi segnalibri siano proprio i primi, ma di sicuro l'esperienza con lo stamping era agli esordi. La data originale della foto è 8 marzo 2004, la bellezza di 16 e passa anni fa.

La chicca che si nota in queste stampe è la piccola ranocchia, creata in dimensioni così minute apposta per l'inaugurazione del negozio di Milano, il primo di Impronte d'Autore! Quanti ricordi...

Guardo con tenerezza a questi miei primi lavori, in cui si notano alcuni elementi che tutt'ora mi appassionano: api e segnalibri! 

Le differenze maggiori tra le cose che faccio oggi e questa foto?

- raramente uso la polvere da rilievo

- non stampo mai i soggetti da colorare con inchiostri che non siano nero o marrone, in assoluto mai chiari, altrimenti la coloritura interna del timbro si perderebbe

E voi che cambiamenti di stile avete fatto nel corso degli anni?

Recently, on the FB group Impronterules by Impronte d'Autore, we talked a lot about the first time we discovered stamps and the first cards we made. I am not entirely sure these bookmarks are my very first ones, but I can easily reckon it was a time when I was making my first baby steps in stamping.

The original date on the picture is March 8 2004: more than 16 years ago!

You can see a rare sample: the small frog made by Impronte d'Autore for the opening of the first shop in Milano. So many memories...

I'm looking at these works with tenderness and I see some elements that passionate me still now: bees and bookmarks!

But I see also many differences between my first stamping projects and the last ones:

- I barely use embossing powder

- I don't print the stamps using a colored ink, especially pale: otherwise the coloring doesn't pop out from the outline.

And what about you? Which are the most changes you made in your stamping style?

MFT - 2020 Card Design Superstar! - Clean & Simple Genius

Ci credereste che le card clean & simple sono quelle che mi mettono più in crisi? Immagino di non essere la sola... Riuscire a realizzare un biglietto che arrivi subito al cuore con semplicità non è cosa facile.

CAS cards! They are the ones that give me hard time! I'm guess I'm not the only one... Make a card that gets to the heart with simplicity it's the opposite of easy.

Spero di esserci riuscita con questo dolcissimo pinguino, con cui partecipo al contest di MFT 2020 Card Design Superstar nella categoria Clean & Simple Genius.

MFT - 2020 Card Design Superstar! - Innovation Master

Adoro questo set di MFT in cui i libri e i giovani lettori sono protagonisti.

Guardare questa card che ho realizzato per il Contest di MFT nella categoria Innovation Master mi riempie di serenità e mi manda alla memoria i pomeriggi passati da bambina immersa nella lettura, completamente rapita dalle pagine in cui i miei personaggi preferiti vivevano mille avventure.

I do love this MFT set, where books and young readers are the main characters.

Looking at this card I made for MFT 2020 Card Design Superstar contest gives me serenity and reminds me of all the days I spent wondering in the pages full of adventures and amazing characters.

Per la base e la struttura della card ho utilizzato un cartoncino craft, mentre per la stampa ho usato un cartoncino Canson acquarellabile in cellulosa. La carta da parati non è altro che un cartoncino color salmone su cui ho tracciato delle linee verticali con la penna gel bianca a mano libera per un effetto più rustico.

For the base and the structure of the card, I used craft card stock, but I printed all the stamps on Canson watercolor card stock. I made the wall paper by tracing some vertical lines with a white gel pen on a salmon colored card stock: I hand trace them to have a more rustic effect.

Non so se c'è un tutorial per questo modello, io mi sono basata semplicemente sulle foto molto chiare dei bellissimi lavori di Artebanale: questa struttura è una di quelle che usa spesso e che mi piace moltissimo, perché si può appiattire per inserirla in una busta e riaprirla sulla base d'appoggio perché resti in bella mostra sul tavolo. Un modello bellissimo che ripeterò sicuramente!

I don't know if exists a template or a tutorial for this card structure, but I kept inspiration just by watching the IG post by Artebanale: she is a wonderful cardmaker and an amazing colorist.

I really enjoy this model because you can flat it to put it in an envelope, or you can keep it open at the base to stand on the table. This is a model I am going to do again soon!

MFT - 2020 Card Design Superstar! - Coloring Virtuoso

Anche questa card è fuori dalla mia comfort zone, ma davanti alle sfide non mi tiro indietro.

Anzi, talvolta ci prendo anche gusto! Con questa card partecipo al contest di MFT nella categoria Coloring Virtuoso.

Another card definitely out of my comfort zone, but challenges don't scare me. I like them, indeed!

This card is my entry for the 2020 Card Design Contest by My Favorite Things, in the Coloring Virtuoso category.

Il primo passo è stato quello di stampare i personaggi su cartoncino nero Fabriano con un tampone bianco e creare uno stencil con un altro cartoncino per sfumare con il Mini Blending Tool i raggi di luce dalla superficie dell'acqua.

First, I printed the characters on black Fabriano card stock with white ink pad; then, I made a stencil with another card stock to blend the white ink for light rays down the water surface.

Poi sono partita con la colorazione usando le matite Prismacolor: 927, 928, 939, 1001 e 1092 per l'incarnato.

At this point I started coloring the mermaid with Prismacolors Premiere pencils: 927, 928, 939, 1001 and 1092 for the skin.

Quindi 920, 992, 903, 1102 e 1027 per la coda e il costume.

Then 920, 992, 903, 1102 e 1027 for the tail and the bikini top.

Per la tartarughina curiosa ho usato questi verdi, sfumandoli tra loro: 908, 909, 912, 913.

For the cute sea turtle I blended together 908, 909, 912, 913.

Colorare i capelli è la parte che mi dà più soddisfazione, sia per i riflessi di luce che per la quantità di sfumature che si possono sovrapporre. In questo caso ho usato: 942, 1033, 945, 946 e 938.

Coloring the hair is the part I like more, because of the reflections and and all the shades you can overlap.

I used 942, 1033, 945, 946 and 938.

Per la stella marina ho sfumato 918, 922 e 923. Mentre per le bolle ho usato 938, 916, 1008, 1102 e 920 (che fatica usare tanti colori in così poco spazio! ^_^).

Tocco finale qualche la ripresa di occhi e bocca con il pennarello nero fine, una punta di penna gel bianca la scritta embossata con la polvere white.

I blended 918, 922 e 923 for the star fish and 938, 916, 1008, 1102 and 920 for the bubbles (such hard work to use so much colors in a little space! ^_^).

The last touch was a black fine liner for eyes, nose and mouth, some tips of white gel pen and the white embossed sentiment.

Fotografare una card nera è davvero difficile, ma spero che si riescano a cogliere le sfumature la brillantezza dei colore anche con uno sfondo così scuro.

Taking pictures of black card is not easy, but I hope you can see the shades and the brilliance of the colors even on dark background.

Magic tags

Chi l'ha detto che le card devono essere grandi ed elaborate per fare scena? Qualche volta è sufficiente una tag chiudi pacco colorata per accompagnare un regalo, soprattutto se si ha poco tempo e non si sa cosa scrivere in uno spazio grande!

Who said that cards big and full of elements make a good show? Sometimes a little colored tag is the perfect match for a present, especially when you have no time to craft and few words to put in it!

I protagonisti sono i miei personaggi preferiti dell'ultima release di Impronte: Dante e Bo.

Per la base, è bastato usare il bordo nuvole come stencil per sfumare lo sfondo con i tamponi Distress, aggiungendo poi delle nuvole per dare maggiore tridimensionalità al tutto.

The main characters here are Dante and Bo, my favorite from the last release by Impronte d'Autore. I used the cloud border as a stencil to blend the color on the background. Then I added some die clouds to add dimension.

Saranno anche piccine, ma se curate nei dettagli, le tag fanno sempre bella figura!

L'autunno si avvicina, ma la natura è ancora meravigliosamente in fiore!

Le tag che vi propongo oggi non sono del tutto nuove qui sul blog. O meglio, mi avete già visto usare queste fustelle su alcune ATC qui.

Good morning with flowers! The tags I show you today are not really a novelty on this blog. You have seen these flowers here on some ATC.

Come spesso accade, quando mi entusiasmo per qualcosa, difficilmente riesco a smettere di giocarci.

Da qui la quantità industriale di fiori che ho assemblato :D

Like often happens when I'm enthusiastic about something, I can not help playing with it.

That's why I made lots of flowers!

In effetti sono così facili da preparare, che può essere un'attività da svolgere anche coi bimbi. Magari invece di usare del cartoncino già colorato, si può acquarellare liberamente del cartoncino bianco e poi ritagliare le diverse parti, come ho fatto anche io per alcuni di questi fiori.

They are so easy to make that you can do them with kids. Maybe by watercoloring some white card stock or by using patterned one.

Insomma: divertimento assicurato!

I guarantee you: so much fun!
