Passatempi / Pastimes

Sicuramente sarà capitato anche a voi di essere a corto di idee o di tempo per dedicarci ad un progetto di stamping, ma nulla ci vieta di pasticciare un po' in attesa che arrivi l'ispirazione o il momento giusto per creare qualcosa. Il mio passatempo preferito è quello di giocare con i Distress.

I'm sure it happens to you too: sometimes you just can't find the right inspiration to make a project. Whenever that is the case, I like to mess up with colors and shapes waiting for the right sparkle to light me up. Playing with Distress is my favorite pastime.

Per prima cosa ho stampato il timbro su un cartoncino bianco con il Versafine Onyx Black, quindi per avere un effetto vintage ho sciolto un po' di Ink Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain e Ground Espresso per aggiungere grosse macchie di colore allo sfondo.

First, I stamped all the tickets on a white card stock with Versafine Onyx Black; then, I used the smooshing technique with Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Ground Espresso Ink pad to have a vintage effect.

Per creare più movimento ho aggiunto delle gocce di Oxide Carved Pumpkin e Salvaged Patina facendole cadere dal pennello bagnato.

To add interest, I added a few splatters of Carved Pumpkin and Salvaged Patina Oxide.

Ho lasciato asciugare tutto per bene e poi ho tagliato i biglietti con la fustella coordinata o le forbici dove c'era poco margine. Da ultimo ho passato un po' di Ink Vintage Photo o Walnut Stain lungo i margini con il Blending Tool, così da creare più tridimensionalità. 

I let it dry overnight, then I cut all the pieces with the coordinate dies (and the scissors where the margins were too small). Eventually, I blended the edges with Ink Vintage Photo or Walnut Stain to have more dimension.

Ed ora ho una bella scorta di biglietti pronti per i prossimi progetti di mixed media!

ATC in fiore / Blooming ATC

La card che ho preparato qualche giorno fa (che avete visto qui) mi ha fatto venire voglia di provare nuove combinazioni di colore, così ho colto l'occasione preparando le ATC da scambiare con le mie amiche stampers. Anche in questo caso ho utilizzato i pennarelli acquerellabili Zig Clean Color Real Brush e per rendere la tridimensionalità dello steccato l'ho incollato alla base con il biadesivo spessorato.

I liked so much the floral card I made a few days ago (you saw it here) that I decided to try other color combos on some ATCs for my crafty friends. I watercolored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and I attached the fence onto the base by foam adhesive to add dimension.

Questa versione in rosa è colorata con il n.27 Dark Pink sfumato con il n.200 S. Almond Pink.

This is the pink version watercolored with n.27 Dark Pink blended with n.200 S. Almond Pink.

Per la versione in giallo questa volta ho abbinato il n.27 Dark Pink con il n.50 Yellow.

For the yellow version this time I match n.27 Dark Pink with n.50 Yellow.

Per i fiori azzurri ho combinato il n.42 Turquoise Green con il n.36 Light Blue.

For the blue flowers I blended n.42 Turquoise Green with n.36 Light Blue.

Benvenuto febbraio! / Welcome February!

Come da proposito dichiarato a inizio anno (qui), ecco pronta l'intestazione per il secondo mese della mia agenda 2023. Ho pensato che questo set di fustelle col paesaggio invernale fosse troppo bello per lasciarlo inutilizzato fino al prossimo dicembre, e visto che il clima è ancora piuttosto rigido, direi che per febbraio è più che appropriato.

As a good resolution of the New Year (in this post), here it is the second heading of my 2023 journal. I thought this Snowglobe die set was too beautiful to let it unused until the next December, and since the season is still pretty chilly... it is perfect for February!

Avendo attinto alla scorta di cartoncini già preparati con i Distress usando diverse tecniche, ci ho messo davvero poco a comporre questa tag. Per creare la neve di sfondo ho utilizzato la fustella del set Winter Wonderland per tagliare un cartoncino da usare come stencil.

I picked the papers from my stash of pieces prepared with different Distress technique, so I spent a few time to assemble this tag. For the snow background I used the die from the set Winter Wonderland to cut a paper as a stencil.

La tag così composta è più grande dello spazio disponibile, ma, non avendo impegni per questi primi giorni del mese, penso sia più importante trovarsi di fronte qualcosa di piacevole aprendo l'agenda che non lasciare libere le prime due righe. Non credete?

This tag is bigger than the space on the journal, but I don't have any engagement for the first days of the month, so I thought that having a page that makes me happy was worth three free line. Don't you agree?
