Questo bimbo nel baccello è uno dei miei timbri preferiti per le nascite (lo avete già visto qui): è così tenero! Una vera primizia : )

I love this baby in the pea pod, it is perfect for new baby cards! It's so cute! (You've seen it already, in this post).

Come avrete notato dallo schizzo, si tratta di un biglietto con rotella (ne avete visti altri esempi in questo post): ecco qui le scritte che comparivano nella finestrella man mano che si faceva girare la rotella a lato.

As shown in the sketch, it is a card with wheel (other samples are in this post). In this case, different sentiments emerge from the window while I turn the wheel on the side.

Mi sono divertita un sacco a inserire particolari tridimensionali, come il baccello, il topper del vasetto e i cordoncini in cotone azzurro.

I loved putting 3-D elements in the card: the pea pod, the vase topper and the blue strings.

Copertina tricolore / Baby blanket in 3 colours

Forse qualcuno di voi ricorderà un post di aprile con alcuni 'assaggi' dei lavori in corso... Ora che ho fatto una consegna tanto attesa posso mostrarvi anche questo lavoro, che mi ha tenuta impegnata diversi mesi.

Sto parlando di una copertina per culla. Ormai avrete capito che mi piace mescolare le carte in tavola, quindi ho deciso di utilizzare una tecnica mista: telaietto ed uncinetto.

I guess some of you remember my Aprile post about some works in progress... Finally I finished one: a baby blanket with a mixed technique: tiny loom and crochet.

Il telaietto l'ho scoperto in fiera (meglio tardi che mai, direte voi) per merito dell'amica Sonia, che si destreggiava con gancetti e ferretti con accattivante abilità. Ne sono stata subito avvinta, e sono partita con il primo di una lunga serie di quadrati in lana mohair e merino.
I discovered the tiny loom at an exhibition. My friend Sonia was showing off her astounding skill. As soon as I could, I turned to it to make a lot of mohair and merino wool squares.

Dopo il primo giro a punto basso dello stesso colore del filato lavorato sul telaietto, ho eseguito un altro giro di punto basso nel secondo colore, e poi ancora due giri di maglia alta.
I made a single crochet round using the former colour and another single crochet round with the latter colour. Then I worked two double crochet rounds with the second colour.

Stessa cosa per gli altri filati, per un totale di 35 quadrati suddivisi in 3 accostamenti di colori diversi.

I made the same thing with other yarns until my work amounted to 35 squares in 3 different sets of colours.

 

Non avevo certo intenzione di lasciare la disposizione dei colori al caso, quindi ho preso carta e matite e mi sono messa a scarabocchiare diverse combinazioni (rinunciando alla disposizione obliqua che avevo tentato ad aprile, con risultati inenarrabili...).

I didn't want to work by chance, so I took paper and pencils and I tested some combinations (I abandoned the oblique disposition I had in mind in April).

Finchè non ho trovato quella più convincente (non vi nascondo che alla fine avevo un po' di mal di mare : )

Finally I found the one I liked more (at the end I had a little bit square-sick : )

Quindi ho scelto di unire i quadrati con una cucitura a maglia bassa ad uncinetto...

So I decided to join the squares with a single crochet sewing...

... per finire con una bordura un po' più voluminosa a maglie alte, altissime e un leggero ricamo in bianco a punto filza. Immancabile l'ultimo giro a punto gambero, che dà stabilità a tutto il lavoro.

... and to finish the blanket by a big edge made of double and treble crochet rounds, and a running stitch with white wool. Last round with left handed stitch.

 Ed ecco la copertina finita!

 Piegata e pronta per essere impacchettata con un bel fiocco azzurro.

Naturalmente non poteva mancare un bel biglietto... ma di questo vi parlerò nel prossimo post : )

Il triangolo non l'avevo mai preso in considerazione... fino ad ora.

Le mie prime ATC / My first ATC

Non mi era mai capitato fino ad ora di dover preparare delle ATC per un incontro tra stampers, e devo dire che è divertente! Soprattutto mi piace la sfida di dover creare qualcosa di 'sfizioso' in un rettangolo 8,9 x 6,3 cm. Ecco la mia versione di ATC estiva.

I never made ATCs for a stampers meeting and I have to admit that it is really fun! The challenge to create something interesting in a small rectangle is the best part of it. Here it is my ATC summer version.

Mi piaceva l'idea di coniugare stamping ed uncinetto, parimerito nel mio podio personale.

I liked the idea to mix stamping and crocheting, which, by the way, share the top step of my personal podium.

La farfalla resta sospesa sui fiori grazie a due piccoli quadratini di biadesivo spessorato.

The butterfly is floating thanks to two foam pieces.

Dolcetti alle tre C / Triple C sweeties

Se non avete bisogno di mettervi a dieta e, come me, siete perennemente assonnati in questo (quasi) cambio di stagione, allora vi consiglio questi favolosi dolcetti alle tre C: cacao, cocco e caffè!

La ricetta originale la trovate qui sul sito del Lidl, ma per qualche ragione non ci sono le quantità di tutti gli ingredienti. Eccoveli qui di seguito:

If you don't need a diet, and you are always sleepy, like I am, in middle (almost) season period, the C sweeties are perfect for you: cocoa, coconut and coffee!

You can find the original recipe here on Lidl website, but I translate for you the italian recipe : )

- 120 gr di farina '00' / flour
- 120 gr di burro / butter
- 100 gr di zucchero di canna / cane sugar
- 80 gr di cocco grattugiato / coconut flour
- 30 gr di cacao amaro / cocoa
- 2 uova / eggs
- caffè in polvere / coffee powder
- 1 cucchiaino di lievito vanigliato / teaspoon of backing powder
- 1 cucchiaio di zucchero a velo / icing sugar
- 1 dl di caffè forte / strong coffee
- 5 cucchiai di latte / spoons of milk
- 1 pizzico di sale / bit of salt

Whip the soft butter with the brown sugar using a whisk and do it until you see a foamy cream taking form. After beating the eggs with milk and salt add them to the cream three times, alternating them with the flour mixed with the backing powder and 20 gr of cocoa powder. Add 70 gr of coconut and 1 spoon of coffee powder.

Put the mixture into a 18 cm squared cake tin and put it in the oven at 180° C for 40-45 minutes.

In a bowl mix the rest of the cocoa with iced sugar and hot coffee, and pour it immidiately over the cake. Put it in the switched off oven for 5 minutes, then take off the cake and let it cool up.  

Cut it in 4 cm cubes and spread on them the rest of the coconut mixed with 1/2 teaspoon of coffee powder.

Successo assicurato!

Biglietto in stile Zindorf per il compleanno di un amico, quindi senza troppi fronzoli e ghirigori.

Per realizzare lo sfondo ho seguito proprio uno dei tutorial di questa stamper davvero talentuosa nel ricreare ambientazioni molto scenografiche.

Metti un giorno d'estate un coniglietto annoiato...

Imagine a bored bunny in a summer lazy day... 

... aggiungi pochi grammi di lana blu, un filo beige, due bottoni e un uncinetto...
